Principal's Welcome

Dear Poly Students and Families,

I hope each of you is well and enjoying a wonderful summer with your loved ones. I am both excited and humbled to begin this new school year as your new Principal. With 15 years of experience in this role, I look forward to working with our incredible Poly community to create an amazing experience for each and every student.

In mid-August, our dedicated staff will return to campus to plan for your arrival and the start of the 2024-25 school year. We are eagerly anticipating welcoming you in late August for Orientation, especially our incoming 9th-grade students and their families. At Poly, our focus will be on building a strong sense of community and identity safety, ensuring that every student feels welcomed, included, and safe. Our mission is to prepare students to thrive in a diverse and complex society, shaping brilliant young people who are kind, compassionate, and driven to make the world around them a better place.

To help you prepare for the 2024-2025 school year, we have assembled information that will be beneficial for you and your student. The Program Distribution packets contain valuable details regarding the Bell Schedule, Important Dates, and Activities for the upcoming school year. This packet is also available on our homepage at https://poly.lbschools.net. In August, on program distribution day, your student will pick up their class schedules and textbooks. They will also have the opportunity to donate to class activities, purchase spirit wear, meet with the ASB banker, and join our PTSA

We continue to provide excellent resources for all our students. Our College and Career Center, Activities Office, Care Center, Care Center Annex, Counseling Office, and Library are all available daily. Students are encouraged to access these resources, ask questions, and challenge themselves both inside and outside the classroom. There are many opportunities for students and their families to get involved at Poly, and I encourage every student to participate in at least one Poly activity or club. We want each of you to feel connected to our school community.

Parents, your support is crucial in helping us achieve our goals. It is extremely important that our students are here on time, attend every day, abide by our school wide expectations, exemplify integrity and respect, and come prepared to learn. A strong partnership with parents is vital for the success of our students, and I encourage you to join our PTSA. We can only succeed with your help!

Thank you for being a part of the Poly family. Let's make this school year the best one yet!

Sincerely,

Dr. Alejandro Vega
